About John C. Pelkey

For years, USPTA, USNTA Tennis Professional, John Pelkey has been one of the most influential tennis personalities in Southern NH. He originated tennis at Pinkerton, NH's largest high school in 1979, and he coached both the boys' and girls' varsity teams for the first 6 years of their existence. He was recently inducted into the NH High School Coaches Hall of Fame, having served as a varsity coach for 28 years. He also coaches advanced and intermediate USTA junior travel teams, and he is the founder and director of The Dana Ball "Love" Tennis Tournament, NH's largest public charitable tennis event. He is the co-founder of the Nutfield Community Tennis Association and the originator/director of the Nutfield Tennis Camp, a Derry NH Recreation Department venture created to provide introductory tennis skills to area children utilizing QuickStart Tennis. He currently gives private, semi-private and group lessons to numerous players of all ages and abilities. Each year, John directly touches the lives of over 600 tennis players in the Rockingham County area.
